What I stand for...

There are many things I stand for. When asked to compile them all into a short excerpt it's quite hard. What does it mean to stand for something, and what does that look like?

  • I believe that every student should feel safe when they go to school in an environment where they can feel comfortable be their true, and authentic selves.

  • I believe school should be a place of growth, where failure is seen only as a steppingstone, rather than defeat. I want students to feel not only appreciated, but also celebrated for their differences.

  • I believe a student is so much more than their grades or a test score.

  • I believe that one's mental health and wellbeing is to be the priority before all else.

  • I believe that survivors should be able to feel supported and empowered as they continue to be resilient embarking on their unique and personal healing journey.

  • I believe that everyone should be free and comfortable to worship whom and how they please.

  • I believe that we are all entitled to equality and deserve the same opportunities no matter the color of our skin or the place where we call home.

  • I believe that every person deserves a fair, just, and livable wage.

  • I believe that every woman has the right to do what they want with their bodies.

  • I believe that love is love and you should be with those who bring you the most joy.

  • I believe that we should be unconfined and untethered in our pursuit of happiness

I am currently 20 years old and have a lot to figure out within my own life. However, I can't think of anything more meaningful than serving those who surround me. I still have a lot to learn, and I hope to spend the entirety of my life educating myself to be better. Standing up for something is more than just words, its continuous action. If elected as student body president, it can be assured that when to comes to representing the student body that your voices will not go unheard, and I will advocate effortlessly on behalf of your needs.
